Finders Set Foot in the Lofoten Islands for LISIT 2025 Summit

Back from the 2nd Lofoten International Symposium on Inequality & Taxation 📊 hashtagLISIT2025. Two days of intense discussions on inequality, tax and climate policy with a fantastic group of economists, all against the backdrop of Lofoten’s incredible landscapes 🌄🌊

During the special session ‘Taxation of Polluting Capital’, our team member Matteo Coronese presented for the first time the new project titled “Billionaires’ Carbon Wealth”. This project explores the carbon footprint of billionaire wealth and how taxing polluting capital can raise public revenue, support climate goals, and enhance tax progressivity.

Big thanks to the organizers and everyone who joined — both for the academic exchange and the great company. And special thanks to the institutions that made it possible: Skatteforsk – Centre for Tax Research, Università degli Studi Roma Tre, GC Wealth Project (Stone Center – CUNY), Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, European Research Council (ERC).

Let’s keep building this community. Looking forward to future editions!
